Join ceramic artist, Brooke Millecchia, as she shares all her intricate surface design methods using machine-cut vinyl stencils.

Walk through the steps of importing your own original 2D art work, modifying it on a computer, die cutting the image and transferring it to a clay surface.

You will leave with zillions of ideas along with several tiles you have designed, imported into the digital software, cut, and applied to tiles yourself.

Stop by Publix before you arrive to purchase your own choice of ready-made salad or sandwich for lunch.

The Body Mechanics of Being a Potter: Yoga for Potters - FREE

Hands and bodies are a potter's most important tools. Pottery enthusiast and yoga teacher Dawn Boudreaux will demonstrate body mechanic awareness for increased mobility and longevity as a maker. Learn easy Yoga techniques especially designed for potters. Your body, pots, and happy customers will thank you!

A Special Glass Class

Coastal Arts Center

Glass Blowing

Make Your Own
Thursday, 2/27, 9 AM - Noon

This class allows you to blow your own ornament, sculpt a flower, or paper weight from your choice of colors.  You will work directly with a glass resident artist. 

Special Clay Conference session fee:  $50 per person

Includes 30 minute live glass- blowing demonstration of ornament, flower and paperweight  by our resident artists.  Then choose which one you would like to create yourself! 

Appropriate Attire for Hot Shop

  • Closed-toe shoes REQUIRED

  • Long pants and long sleeves are recommended, but not required.

  • Cotton clothes are recommended. No synthetic materials.

  • Bring something to drink as we do not have vending machines on our campus.

Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope is offering a pre-conference wood firing in their Manabigama. It is a small teaching kiln designed to be fired in 12 hours. This firing allows participants to experience a wood firing on a shorter time frame than most. Instructor, Maria Spies, with her students, has fired this kiln over 6 years, 27 times with great results.

A shelf - space in the kin is 12” d. x 24” w. x 8”h. Spaces may be shared.
Participants bring cone 10 bisque.

ESAC will provided all cone 10 glazes, wadding and handouts.

Cost is $150
